Who to date?

As you all know, I am over 40 and single.  I am extemely excited to see what the future holds in store for me.  I know that I want to spend more time on my career, charitys, and more time with taking care of my mom.  I don't give her enough attention and I know when the time comes for her to be too old, I'll regret not spending more time catering to her.  I am also looking forward to dating.  I haven't really put myself out there in the last 1o years.  I have had a few dates but nothing to write home about if you know what I mean.  I haven't met  HIM yet.  I actually don't even know if there will be someone I see dating long term.  I have committment issues from my last relationship.  I mean come on,  I was with the EX for 10 years and he turned out to be A sexual to put it midly.  I still haven't recovered from being told I wasn't small enough for all those years. So that is the topic of my blog today,  what do us girls really want when our children are off to school, we have our careers, and we are successful.  When it comes to finding that perfect dating partner what do you look for?  I do know what I am not looking for.  I do not want someone needing me to be their income.  I do not want someone that is too clingy.  I do not want someone that is socially inept.   I do not want someone that is insecure or arrogant.   I want someone that loves me the way I am, quirks and all.  I want someone that loves affection and romance.  I want someone that is my protector not destroyer.  I have had two of those and that's enough for me.   Ladies wouldn't it be nice to have someone make dinner for you and watch a chick flick without complaining?   I have no problems watching the movies the men like,  just occasionally give let us have what we want.  I love Sports Center better than most guys, however, I love a good comedy or girl movie to mix things up.   I guess what I want is someone to be my equal, someone to share life with, not take away from what is important to me.
